I was thinking about rules today, and applying them in the corp structure. Now, I know that part of my recruitment spiel is:
[are you looking for] a corporation that allows you to do your own thing in your own time?
So I was trying to reconcile that against having rules. How can members do their own thing if there’s still rules?
Well, they still can, because the rules are simple.
- Don’t initiate any fights
- Don’t smacktalk
Other than that, members can do their own thing.
Considering the corp is a pacifist corp, and I’m certainly promoting it that way, I’ve concluded that there shouldn’t be a problem with having these rules in the corp.
The reason for these rules is because I want to develop a reputation for the Touring New Eden corp. I want it to become known as a neutral, pacifist corp that is friends with everyone.
A corp for hippies. 🙂
But I can’t develop and maintain that reputation if any of my members go around shooting people.
So anyone who I find violating any of the Rules of Corp Membership will be immediately kicked out of the corp.
